Charges expected today for suspect in cop slaying | detnews.com | The Detroit News: "Charges are to be announced this morning in connection with the slaying of Detroit Police Officer Brian Huff.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy and the Detroit Police Department scheduled a joint press conference for 10:30 a.m. in Worthy's offices atop Frank Murphy Hall of Justice.
Police have asked Worthy to charge habitual felony offender Jason Gibson, 25, of Detroit, with the May 3 death of Huff and wounding of four other officers. Police have said Gibson shot the cops when they responded to a call about shots fired at a vacant duplex on the city's northeast side. Gibson was shot in the back during the confrontation. He has been held under guard at a hospital on an arrest warrant issued last month when Gibson failed to show for trial on gun charges filed in November"
