Man suspected of carrying a gun onto Middle Georgia College's main campus

Authorities took into custody a man suspected of carrying a gun onto Middle Georgia College's main campus today.College officials said the man was not a student at the school in Cochran, located about 120 miles south of Atlanta. The man was not identified.Earlier this morning, the college was placed under a lockdown after a student reported seeing a man with a gun. Authorities conducted a room-by-room search of the college.College president Mary Ellen Wilson says the college has resumed normal operations and the lockdown was lifted around noon.The Bleckley County Sheriff's Office says there were no reports of shots fired.Georgia law prohibits carrying guns on college campuses.
