Vontrell Martez Gonzales

Vontrell Martez Gonzales, 18, to pay $200 toward a restitution fund, a $20 court fee, a $127 attorney fee and a $200 parole revocation fee.
Gonzales pleaded no contest in November to the unpremeditated attempted murder of Larry Peraza and to assault with a semiautomatic firearm against Peraza's younger brother, Steve.
Montebello police said Gonzales' intended target was Larry Peraza, who was also standing outside the 500 block of Walnut Avenue during the Feb. 5 drive-by shooting.
Gonzales lived near his target but was hanging out with a rival tagging crew from Boyle Heights, Navarro said. He said both tagging crews are offshoots of gangs.
On Friday, Gonzales had his attorney, Anthony Garcia, hand over a letter to the judge apparently asking for less time.
"The court has read your letter which requests the court, I guess, to dismiss one of the counts so when you get out of prison, you will have one strike instead of two," Ricciardulli said.
He pointed out that
Gonzales made a plea bargain with prosecutors and denied the request.
