Dead HomiezGang shooting witnessed by kids getting off school bus - Chicago Sun-Times: "Three northwest suburban gang members allegedly beat and shot at a man Wednesday afternoon in plain view of students getting off a school bus and parents waiting to pick them up.

Just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, Prospect Height police were called to the 600 block of Piper Lane for shots fired and numerous people fighting. Officers from Prospect Heights, Mount Prospect and Wheeling responded.

By the time officers arrived, the offenders had fled, but witnesses said three young men were beating another man and several gunshots had been heard. A nearby school bus was discharging students, and they, along with several parents, witnessed the shooting, a release from police said.

The victim told police three offenders had flashed gang signs as they entered the development complex. When one said he didn’t belong to a gang, the three threw a beer can into his car and began to hit the victim.

He freed himself and was able to drive away, when one of the offenders fired shots at the victim’s vehicle. The victims and witnesses provided a description of the offenders."
