Slain Tampa police officers recalled as devoted family men and crime-fighters - St. Petersburg Times: "Police officers Jeffrey Kocab and David Curtis were remembered Tuesday as men who were devoted to their jobs and families.
Both 31 years old, Kocab and Curtis were gunned down early Tuesday morning during a traffic stop at 50th Street and 23rd Avenue. They both worked the midnight shift, and both were relatively new to the Tampa Police Department.
Kocab joined the department about 14 months ago from the Plant City Police Department.
He was chosen by his fellow Plant City officers as employee of the month four times in three years.
'Every shift he worked he gave 100 percent,' said Plant City police Chief Bill McDaniel. 'He was always in turbo mode. He was fearless, energetic.'"

The two teenagers are suspects in a June 3 gang-related shooting that took place on Fifth Avenue near San Pablo Avenue and left an 18-year-old Pinole man wounded in his leg.
The victim survived the shooting.
Robles was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, participation in a criminal street gang and altering an imitation firearm to make it appear real.
The 16-year-old suspect was arrested for being a minor in possession of live ammunition, assault with a deadly weapon and participation in a criminal street gang, police said."

Prosecutors say 27-year-old Lorenzo Stotts was behind the wheel of his Isuzu SUV after working at a Wendy's restaurant on June 20, 2007, when he spotted Lara walking down a street and pulled over to offer him a ride.
Lara directed Stotts to a dark area and he was shot in the head and killed."

The first shooting happened on June 4 at 6:20 p.m. in the 1400 block of Emeric Ave. The two victims were walking from a liquor store toward a home on Emeric when they saw a dark four-door Honda parked on the corner, Lewellyn said.

The car's occupants stared at them and some words were exchanged.

The driver of the car then circled around the block and, as the
victims reached their home, the car returned and someone inside shot at them, striking the house, Lewellyn said.

The second shooting happened shortly after midnight on June 5 near College Lane and Del Camino Drive.

Two victims were walking from a 7-Eleven store near Broadway and San Pablo avenues when they noticed a dark, four-door Honda driving slowly through the parking lot, Lewellyn said."
